SCHOOL PROFILE

Ekota School is a proud neighborhood K-6 school and a designated Division site for the Interactions Program, located in southeast Mill Woods. Our name is rooted in the Cree language, meaning "special place," which reflects our commitment to providing a "special place to raise a family." We are fortunate to collaborate with a variety of local businesses, community resource networks, and post-secondary institutions. These partnerships allow us to offer an enriched learning environment while staying deeply connected to the families we serve.

Please Note:

For the 2025 - 2026 school year, with the exception of Kindergarten, Ekota School is full in planned classes in the regular program. We will now only accept resident students in Grades 1 to 6 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Use our online calculator to find out when a child can start Kindergarten.
