    SCHOOL PROFILE

    Ekota school is located in southeast Mill Woods. In addition to the neighbourhood students, we serve as a district site for the Learning Strategies program and the Interactions Program. Our school gym is utilized in the evenings with community sports programs such as indoor soccer. We are fortunate to have many organizations that support our school including  Sobeys, Family Futures Resource Network,  The Elks  and Edmonton Royal Purple Elks, and University Programs including Grant MacEwan, Concordia, and the University of Alberta.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

If you have questions about registering, contact the school office.

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens at 8 a.m. on February 3.

2025-2026 School Year Update

Thanks to all the families who pre-enrolled before the deadline to help our school get ready for 2025–26! 

We’re happy to let you know that, based on available space, all students who registered or pre-enrolled before March 19, 2025, have been accepted. We look forward to seeing your family in the fall!

 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 

If you are registering for Kindergarten, or are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.  Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

Kindergarten age - Children who are five years old on or before December 31, 2024 may register in Kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year. The Alberta government changed the entry age for students registering in Kindergarten, beginning in 2020-21. The entry age is the first year that a child may enter Kindergarten, and does not mean it is the only year children are eligible for Kindergarten. This is based on Alberta Education funding guidelines.
